HERE IS THE FORECAST FOR INSHORE WATERS WITHIN 5 NAUTICAL MILES OF GIBRALTAR VALID UNTIL 0800 LOCAL TIME WEDNESDAY. ISSUED BY THE MET OFFICE IN GIBRALTAR
WIND: Variable Force 3 or less, mainly east to southeast becoming southwest to west in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
WEATHER: Fair with haze, especially at first and again overnight.
VISIBILITY: Good but moderate in haze.
SEA STATE: Smooth or slight.
SWELL: An average, low easterly becoming a short to average, very low easterly overnight.

The Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory (POL) operates a tidal gauge monitoring system at the North Mole. This provides continuous measurement of sea level in electronic form which is displayed in the Port office as well as being transferred to a data centre at POL. The data is quality checked at POL and 08:54then made available publicly via their website.
